I don’t know about you but the past 2 months have been non-stop. Recently I’ve begun to feel very overwhelmed, & today was even more of a doozy than any of the previous days.

I’ll be honest with you…with the sense of being overwhelmed that I’ve had & that I know is coming, I can feel my energy waning & my motivation retreating back into the crevices of my heart & mind. Especially today…I felt like every few seconds there was some new thought, fear, or revelation knocking me down & making me terrified for the future. I felt like every direction I turned I received another punch in the gut & jaw, no matter how I tried to defend myself. I felt like I was standing in the midst of a tornado…with nothing to stabilize me, my hands reaching out front, but nothing to grasp ahold of.

So…for the days you feel lost & overwhelmed, don’t give up hope.

For the days you feel hopeless & afraid, turn to God & His Word, because He will not waver & His Word will ground you.

For the days you feel crushed by whatever burden you carry, turn to the Lord for His yoke is easy & His burden is light. Turn to your fellow Christians who you know will keep you accountable, pick you up, & point you back towards the cross…towards the only direction in life that matters.

“Come to Me, all you who labor & are heavy laden, & I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you & learn from Me, for I am gentle & lowly in heart, & you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy & My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

For the days you feel like you can’t get out of bed…let alone complete the tasks filling your to-do list for the day; celebrate the small victories. Put one foot in front of the other & be okay with your best even it isn’t your greatest. Be okay with progress…be okay with every little inch of growth, because sometimes that’s all you have to give.

For the days you feel alone in this world, KNOW that you are not. Know that you are loved by the Creator of the Universe. KNOW & BELIEVE you are surrounded by people who love & support you, whether you can see it or not. KNOW that you are not the only one going through this thing. You ARE NOT alone.

For the days you feel like you just can’t do it anymore, know that you will survive this. Know that one day you will look back & cherish the lessons God taught you through it all, & that He was using it as a way for you to help the next person suffering the same.

For the days you feel like you’re about to lose it all…yes, it’s scary, but in the scheme of eternity, those THINGS don’t matter. What matters is whether you cherish God & His plan for your life more than you cherish your things.

For the days you feel like a failure & don’t ever want to face the world again, know so many others have failed before you, but they chose to get back up & keep going. Know that what you do today does not determine your value to God because you ARE valued & loved, no matter what. But know that the choice you make today- to hide or continue to charge forward- will make all the difference in the days ahead.

For the days you feel like you’re in the middle of the whirlwind & you’re constantly being knocked down, you can’t see what’s ahead, & you’re terrified because you’re afraid you’ll be lost in it all…there is only One who will ground you. You may not be able to see Him clearly, but God is right there. He’s there, with His hand reaching out to you through the rushing clouds around you. He is grounded & He will not be moved. All you have to do is trust & grab His hand…

I know because that’s where I am. I am in the middle of that whirlwind right now & I’m scared, but I have chosen to grab His hand because I know that in His grip I will not be shaken. I am choosing today to hold fast & secure to the Rock that is higher than I, to the One who cannot be moved…not by anyone or anything. I know that no matter what comes my way today, tomorrow, or the months ahead…no matter what I gain or lose, that His grace is enough & into the roar of this whirlwind I will shout with all my heart & soul:

HIS WILL BE DONE.
